Midnight Sun Roller Girlz Hosted Denali Destroyer Dolls

We ended the month of September with a bang as the Denali Destroyer Dolls traveled all the way from Wasilla to play in our first scrimmage. Fun was had by all as we learned so much from one another. We’re so thankful for 3D, and their true derby sisterhood! The location wasn’t ideal, but they made the best of it and showed their hearts are as big as “Denali” itself.

We would also like to welcome our latest sponsor, Viva Las Vegas Skate Company! The lights! The excitement! Elvis! And roller derby! It sounds like the start of a beautiful friendship.

As Coach Grinch and the Training Committee continue to prepare the Girlz, we welcome new challenges and are open to bouting. We have invited teams in our area to join us. North Pole Babes in Toyland have declined our invitation, Fairbanks Rollergirls have not responded. Yukon Roller Girls are interested in future bouts as is Rage City. Roller derby sisters in our own back yard refuse to acknowledge Midnight Sun Roller Girlz as the latest force to be reckoned with. If you’d like to see your home town derby teams bout it out, let your voice be heard. Contact Fairbanks Rollergirls on their Facebook page or website. Let the Babes in Toyland know you’d love to see a Babes Vs. Girlz bout on their Facebook page or website. Let’s bring more Roller Derby to the Fairbanks and North Pole area!

The Midnight Sun Roller Girlz Needs Your Help

The Midnight Sun Roller Girlz are currently seeking a warehouse or practice space in either Fairbanks or North Pole.

We've outgrown our current facility! We need a practice facility with a minimum of 3000-4000 sq of open space with hard flooring of concrete, hardwood, gymnasium flooring etc. but almost any hard surface will suffice.

Please help this Alaskan Non Profit Organization find a place to practice the sport we love.

Golden Days Parade MSRG Style

Midnight Sun Roller Girlz had a wonderful time skating in the Golden Days Parade with our friends at New Northwest Broadcasters. When else would anyone be able to skate down Second Avenue? Camo Cazi and Boom-Dot Saint enjoyed practicing their hits and leg whips for the crowd and Camo Cazi and Coach Grinch even jumped over sNOw Angel and Referee Mush Her Along! Hannicaine was super skater in her MSRG banner/cape with Arctic Blast Her.

Thank you KXLR, KWLF and Ted FM for letting us join you! It’s always a lot of fun skating under the Midnight Sun with Midnight Sun Roller Girlz!

Derby Fun Under the Midnight Sun

So far it’s been an exciting summer for the Midnight Sun Roller Girlz!

First, a successful assessment to Roller Girl status! Congratulations to all our qualified Girlz. We’d also like to congratulate our new skaters and referees. It’s a pleasure to have you on the team!

Second, many team members attended an informative boot camp in
Anchorage at Midnight Mayhem. Coach and the Training Committee have been hard at work to incorporate all they learned into our weekly practices.

But It hasn’t all been hard work for MSRG. We’ve also been enjoying helping the community. We volunteered at The Midnight Sun Run as Water Girlz and Guyz. We helped sell raffle tickets at The Midnight Sun Festival, skated at the Relay for Life and helped drum up support for the Blood Drive with local radio station KXLR. Next we will be back in the Golden Days Parade skating with KXLR and their sister station KWLF.

It’s a lot of fun skating under the Midnight Sun with Midnight Sun Roller Girlz!

New Team Name Decided

The skaters have spoken and our team is now known as......dun, duda, dah!!

The Midnight Sun Roller Girlz!

The new web address (www.midnightsunrollergirlz.com) should be pointing to this site in just a day or two, so tell your friends.

The last couple of practices have been absolutely fantastic, with new team members bringing their 'A Game' to the floor. Also a congratulations to all those Girlz who had the courage to go out for assessments, with 10 out of 12 passing!

Then we got some great kudo's during last nights Fairbanks Grizzlies game for our fundraising effort for our teammate Tricia 'Sleigh-Her' Zimmerman. We didn't do it for the accolades but it is gratifying to know that the community sees exactly what we can do as one of Fairbanks' newest non-profits.

For those of you who have been wondering if Derby is for you....come out and give it a try!

Welcome to our new site!

We are excited about a few upcoming changes currently in the works!

After a great league meeting today we have, as a league, made some decisions as to the direction we will be heading. In light of these decisions we wanted to let all of our Facebook fans know that we will be discontinuing use of the NPRG fan page for the immediate future.

We will be posting further information on the upcoming changes within the next few days on our new website http://www.northpolederbyassociation.com/ (Should be active by April 10th). We hope that you will follow us there as we continue to grow and move forward.

Skate On!
